OX SEATED CALF RAISE

There are workhorses and then there are oxen. This is the former. The Ox: Seated Calf Raise is made of 11 to 14-gauge steel, padded with 2-inch-thick foam, designed top-to-bottom to meet the needs of commercial fitness facilities, and priced to be affordable for residential users.

Let’s talk about the design. The footplate is tilted 20 degrees towards the seat to extend the athlete’s range of motion. The surface of the footplate is coated with a polyurethane solution to increase traction and prevent slippage. The leg pad is vertically adjustable by 6 inches and features 2-inch-thick foam. The seat is also 2 inches thick and features a length of 20 inches to accommodate users of various heights. At the right of the seat, you will find a safety catch that tilts to the right as soon as the primary arm moves and can easily be locked back in place with a simple adjustment at the end of the set.

This ox only has one horn, but it’s more than enough. At 12.25 inches long, you can safely load the Ox with nine 45-pound plates the size of our Olympics for a total load of 405 pounds that can be safely increased with our Savag chains. The horn itself is tilted at a 35-degree angle from the floor, so you won’t have to worry about the plates coming off mid-workout.
